Description
Copiapoa tenuissima f. monstrosa is a fascinating, slow-growing cactus native to the arid regions of northern Chile. This rare monstrose form develops compact clusters of irregularly shaped stems, ranging from 1 to 5 cm in diameter, depending on the clone. In strong sunlight, the stems darken to an almost black hue, creating a dramatic contrast against their delicate yellow flowers. Each cluster remains relatively small but can gradually fill a 10 cm bowl, making it perfect for small pots or dish gardens. There are several known clones of this cultivar—some extremely compact and densely branched, others with slightly larger stems and fewer offsets. In spring and summer, Copiapoa tenuissima f. monstrosa produces charming, sweet-scented yellow flowers up to 2.5 cm long. It thrives in bright light and well-draining soil, preferring minimal watering and good airflow. This cactus is ideal for collectors who appreciate rare, sculptural forms and subtle desert
