Description
Euphorbia abdelkuri cv. ‘Damask’ is a breathtaking cultivar of the highly sought-after species native to Abd al Kuri Island near Yemen. This variety is distinguished by its unique pink to grayish-pink coloration, setting it apart from the standard green form. Its thick, columnar stems grow slowly, branching subtly to create a sculptural, coral-like silhouette that resembles living stone. Unlike many Euphorbias, ‘Damask’ has a smooth surface with faint ribs and minimal spines, giving it a soft and elegant appearance.
This plant thrives in bright, indirect sunlight and prefers warm, dry conditions with excellent drainage. Water sparingly — only when the soil is completely dry — as overwatering can lead to root rot. In summer, a light watering every few weeks is sufficient, while in winter it should be kept almost dry. Euphorbia abdelkuri produces tiny yellow-green flowers (cyathia) near the stem tips during the growing season, adding a subtle touch of beauty.
Perfect for succulent collectors and minimalist interiors, this rare ‘Damask’ form is both artistic and resilient. Its pastel tones and striking form make it a centerpiece in any cactus or Euphorbia collection.
